Welcome back to the kitchen table. Bethany shares a story about her daughter, who was determined to get dressed on her own, even though she struggled. Like many of us, she wanted to be independent, resisting help. But Bethany gently reminded her that it’s okay to ask for help and surrender when things get hard.
Psalm 103:13-14 says, “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.” God meets us with compassion, especially in those moments when we try to be independent, struggling on our own.
God’s heart is filled with compassion, always ready to help, reminding us that we don’t have to do it all on our own. Just like a parent gently helping their child, he’s there, waiting for us to surrender and let him step in.
