Welcome back to the kitchen table. Bethany is guiding listeners through the final conversation of repentance. Guiding our children through repentance can feel like one of the hardest parts of our role. Some days, it may seem like they resist every nudge toward saying "I'm sorry" or owning up to their mistakes.
But leading these conversations isn’t just about getting them to say the right words—it’s about shaping their hearts and minds to understand the beauty of repentance. Before we can lead our children in repentance, we have to know this truth for ourselves: God’s mercy meets us in our mistakes. Every time we fall short, He is there, calling us back to Him, not with condemnation, but with love.
More than anything, we need to ask God to help us see our children the way he does—with eyes of grace and understanding. This is why we sit in prayer over their lives.
Leading the repentance conversation is more than just teaching our kids how to apologize, it’s about helping them understand God’s heart.
